TIM FIRTH (Script Writer) is one of Britain's most exciting screenwriting talents. His first two films, Calendar Girls and Blackball were released the same week in 2003, the former becoming one the UK's most successful British films of all time. Starting writing on an Arvon Foundation course run by Willy Russell, Tim studied English at Cambridge. Here he met director Sam Mendes who directed all the plays Tim wrote while at University. He went on to work closely with Alan Ayckbourn and was commissioned by him to write Neville's Island, a play that for twelve years now has been regularly performed worldwide.

More recently, Ayckbourn directed Tim's latest comedy The Safari Party. Tim first came to the attention of television viewers and critics with three series of the multi award-winning Preston Front and went on to win plaudits for a number of one-offs including Money for Nothing, The Flint Street Nativity and his BAFTA-winning comedy for children, The Rottentrolls.

His most recent television work includes the TV film, Cruise of the Gods starring Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon and David Walliams, and the pioneering of a single play season for ITV called Trapped. In 2003 Tim's first West End musical, Our House. won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. Tim is currently involved closely with Scamp and Working Title on a new feature film.
